Meet our 2026/27 Graduate Residents

KARST is pleased to welcome two graduate artists for a six-month studio residency, Harry Wilkins (Bath Spa University) and Magda Tudor (Arts University Plymouth).

Harry Wilkins is an artist working across performance, sculpture, video and installation. His practice favours a reduced visual language where deft gestures carry unexpected weight. Through his work, Harry addresses failure, both as method and concern, and asks questions about the role of artistic labour.

Harry says: “The residency will allow me to continue developing my practice and expanding my network, and importantly to take my work outside of an educational framework and place it within a professional context. During my stay I intend to build on works from my MA, using the time, space and independence to push these ideas further. I’m most excited by the change of place, meeting new people and building professional relationships whilst remaining grounded in the wider South West arts ecology.”

Magda Tudor is an Exeter-based artist working across sculpture, installation, moving image and sound. Her practice explores unstable states of identity and the body, bringing together organic and constructed forms to investigate transformation, uncertainty and the space between human and non-human.

Magda says: “I will use the residency as an opportunity to become part of a new artist community, engage with different artistic practices and develop potential collaborations. It would also give me the time and space to further develop my own practice, experiment with new ideas and mediums, and explore how my work can evolve through new connections, conversations and experiences.”
